Ciertos Civiles

Certain Civilians
Drenched in sweat, I'm covered by a cloud
It dims its light, and with that light, I rise
Frozen, I want to shake off
This strange or supernatural hold
And I'm caught in a vapor or a deeper instinct
On hot nights that drive me wild
I step into the light, and absence lifts me
I shout "God!" and it's my shadow that runs away
Hundreds of thousands are on their way
Hundreds of thousands need to be carried
A voice slips inside me
I feel the tremor of sweat rising
I'm minimized, bound to an altar
Connected to a million stars as they pass
By a sharp sound that pulls my thoughts
On hot nights that drive me wild
The light dims, and the heat fades
I start to move again, but I don’t know where I’ve been
Hundreds of thousands are on their way
Hundreds of thousands need to be carried
Certain civilians are on their way
Certain civilians need to be carried
