Antes
La Mancha de Rolando
Before
Before, when I went out alone, I broke my nose.
Poor my heart suffered but I was at full speed.
I always mortgaged my life to keep going.
Risk, love, and fantasy: the keys for me.
I always searched for you, always had to cry to see
that this life was worth it.
I always woke up from my nightmares and I will never have
the peace I need.
Before I slept all day to rebuild
all my lost neurons that wanted to leave.
Soon I realized I was hurt, I didn't want to laugh anymore.
Everyone gave me up for lost, tired of insisting.
But I remembered my father teaching me to see
the world as it was.
I couldn't fail my friends from yesterday,
today, and always.
The eyes are not given to see but the kid keeps going
needs to be awake.
He always goes back and even though it hurts, he never stops learning.
Before, when I went out alone, I broke my nose.
Poor my heart suffered but I was at full speed.
But I remembered my father teaching me to see
the world as it was.
I couldn't fail my friends from yesterday,
today, and always.
