This afternoon I heard a tune
And I felt a wave of nostalgia thinking of the place
Where I was born, Puerto Rico.
What will become of my land and my trees?
What will happen to my sun-drenched home?
My dear sun, old friend.

Who could be a bird and fly
To return and be with you?
