La Hiedra
La Vela Puerca
The Ivy
Life wrapped him up in its sweet
And in its cruel thicket
He has no ideas or joy,
No flowers to gather
He fears it without reason,
Afraid of what’s to come
He no longer harvests love and now
His field is made of steel.
The memories in his mind are rubble
And he must understand
How to piece it all back together
What he didn’t want to break
And the tales of his story are swarms
And he must understand
How to do it all over again
So he won’t lose his faith.
Life taught him once,
To bend but not break.
He has no excuses for selling out,
No flowers left to heal.
He fears it and doesn’t want to see,
Afraid of forgetting
He no longer fits the role and now
His guilt is just waiting
The memories in his mind are rubble
And he must understand
How to piece it all back together
What he didn’t want to break
And the tales of his story are swarms
And he must understand
How to do it all over again
So he won’t forget who he was.
