Das Schweigen

Disgust that seizes the world
Hatred that flows through the hearts
Corruption that spreads through the ranks
Of the noble ranks of men
In which only the same stands next to the same
In between, a gap is struck
And separates races and genders
Oh, disgust that confesses to the world
No one has seen it
No one has heard it
No one will say anything
And no one will ask about it
The whole street smells of blood
But nothing has happened
These hands folded for prayer
These hands ready for killing
These hands pray for peace
These hands will put them in chains
This mouth pleads for mercy
This mouth speaks of guilt
This person breaks and dies
This person will live
These eyes have seen it
But these eyes close
And the blood flows unhindered
And the silence becomes unbearably loud
