Madre de Otro Cristo

The afternoon shed tears over that ranch
Next to the eyes dried by the handkerchief
Of that mother who, embracing her son
To make him a priest, gave him to heaven

In him she had placed her hope
To see him happily married with little ones
And now, even though crying, she gave thanks
Because her grandchildren will be endless

Oh! Mother of that priest, country mother
Oh! Seed that suffered for God
When you gave the most beautiful fruit
To God, the son of your heart

Time had passed in that town
Seven years of hope and prayer
She begged the Virgin Mary
To receive the blessing for her son

One morning as the sun rose
Amid festive songs of calandrias
A young priest was seen arriving at the ranch
And an old lady kneeling down
