Un Buon Inizio
Laura Pausini
A Good Start
You know where it goes
Life without courage
Remains true halfway
Like a statue of ice
Slowly what I've been through will disappear
Like dedications by hand on a used book
One must give the right weight to a mistake
Scars help to fly better
When I put my soul into it
And then lose heart
The world collapses
But my stubborn head doesn't
The smile falls from the lips
Like a glass breaking on the floor
There are words like bombs burning inside
But I won't listen
I don't let anger win
And my change grows like a forest
I exchange what I feared for what I feel
And it's not much
But at least it's a good start
Amidst this noise
And among a million roads
I seek a better future
I stop and try to shine
And those who watch me while I dance alone to a slow song
Never know how beautiful it is to take one's time
It's the thrill I feel over the precipice
The end of a race before judgment
When I put my soul into it
And then lose heart
The world collapses
But my stubborn head doesn't
The smile falls from the lips
Like a glass breaking on the floor
There are words like bombs burning inside
But I won't listen
I don't let anger win
And my change grows like a forest
I exchange what I feared for what I feel
And it's not much
But at least it's a good start
What broke in me?
What made me tremble so strongly?
It's fear that sometimes transforms
Insecurity into freedom
If only a train were enough to escape, to escape
If only a trick were enough to cover all the apathy
If only a good start for my melancholy
The smile falls from the lips
Like a glass breaking on the floor
There are words like bombs burning inside
Like bombs burning inside
But I won't listen
(I don't let anger win)
(And my change grows like a forest)
It's a forest my change
(I exchange what I feared for what I feel) what I fear what I feel
(And it's not much but at least it's a good start)
It's a good start
