Desde Un Ayer a Un Mañana
Lazaro Caballero
From Yesterday to Tomorrow
The ties are being cut, from a yesterday to a tomorrow
In my chest these verses are unraveling
Mountains inside memories blooming in my nostalgia
No matter how many years have passed, I evoke in the distance
The place where I lived, that beautiful little house of mine
Where I spent the evenings with my guitar
Guitar that once shared my solitudes
I carry you in immensity deep inside my chest
You are a miracle in my life, companion and many truths
I thank the eternal father, for all that was lived before
Although my childhood is gone and remains in my memory
Memories that are the history of a yesterday I never forget
Saturdays and Sundays when my grandfather arrived
Tired from the day's work but with immense joy
To share at his table the bread that never ran out
I remember that as a child, to the rhythm of Los Manseros
I was tying my dreams to the arena of life
Without thinking that one day God would make me a guitarist too
Life goes on horseback, putting the soul in the saddle
Perhaps luck is with me in this round
Even if the bull of death beats me in the charge
I keep roping memories with the lasso of destiny
It grants me a license to wine, intoxicating with nostalgia
With crickets in my throat and a heart on fire
