Soy Lo Que Canto
Lazaro Caballero
I Am What I Sing
I come from Chaco gualamba
Where the Sun saw me grow
Rocked in Chacareras
Polkas and chamame
Today I walk painting my land
Without haste with my voice
The notes are the colors
That my heart lends me
I don't despair or cry
If I'm thirsty for love
I will calm it by singing
When I find someone to love
I don't live by appearances
Pretending
Here I am as they see me
I am what I sing
A very rough copla
Today I want to sing
Maybe silence will lull it
So I can throw it
I am proud of the north
Land of music and Sun
My song seeks a friend
To leave them my heart
On the earth in the countryside
And I have learned to walk
Next to my dear father
Whom I will never forget
I don't live by appearances
Pretending
Here I am as they see me
I am what I sing
