Rivière jaune
Le Rêve du Diable
Yellow River
Ah! I live in a mountain
Next to a yellow river
There's two, three cows that go on the edge
Dipping their little feet between sips
There are tall trees growing all around
Ah! All around the house
There are all kinds of flowers, there are lilacs
There's even a road passing below
When you come to visit us
To say hello in August
I'll give you my hand
I'll tell you to come into my house
A cot for you to sleep on
A little milk if you're thirsty
With some flour we'll make bread
We'll eat toast on the wood stove
When the evening falls on the house
On the balcony we sing our songs
We talk a bit about our day
Rocking, we smoke a good pipe
We say: 'Maybe it'll be nice tomorrow
We'll go for a walk with the dogs'
And when the moon starts to yawn
We look at the stars and go to bed
When you come to visit us
To say hello in August
I'll give you my hand
I'll tell you to come into my house
A cot for you to sleep on
A little milk if you're thirsty
With some flour we'll make bread
We'll eat toast on the wood stove
