Águas Passadas
Leni Silva
Past Waters
One day I went
Through a great trial
I cried a lot
My disillusion
My days passed
In a valley of pain
Where the birds didn’t sing and there were no flowers
The wind was blowing
It was raining outside
My soul was crying
In cruel agony
The dark night
Came down on me
A night of bitterness
That I thought would never end
Past waters
Don’t turn the mill
In my footsteps, no
There are no more thorns
I’ve been renewed
In my soul there’s peace
Jesus walks with me
And the sad danger
Is left behind
Sometimes I need
To think a little
That the beautiful roses
Have thorns too
But they give off fragrance
And they also beautify
So are the trials
That come my way
The many tears
That I once cried
Turned into stones
And I collected them
Into precious stones
Of rare value
That now adorn
My path of love
Past waters
Don’t turn the mill
In my footsteps, no
There are no more thorns
I’ve been renewed
In my soul there’s peace
Jesus walks with me
And the sad danger
Is left behind
Jesus walks with me
And the sad danger
Is left behind
