Road to Emmaus
On the long road to Emmaus
Without the presence of Jesus, the journey is sad
Even in the company of someone
But if this someone is not Jesus, the walk is painful
Suddenly the Master arrives
With His gentle and sweet voice, conveying peace
Sad travelers of Emmaus, comforted by Jesus
No longer lament
Stay with me, stay, the night is dark, stay
Do not leave, stay, do not be absent Lord
Your words burn in my being
Your voice produces in my life
The security I need to overcome, Master stay
On the narrow path to Zion
The saved will not stumble, Jesus will guide them
His teachings like a beacon
Fill the pilgrim with light, and steady his steps
The tender gaze of the Savior
Calms the poor traveler, and renews his being
The road is long, but it has light
The company of Jesus makes the faithful overcome
