Exulte: Proclamação da Páscoa
Léo Mantovani
Exult: Easter Proclamation
Let the heavens exult, and the triumphant Angels
Messengers of God, descend singing
Let the resplendent trumpets sound
Announcing the victory of a King
Let the friendly earth also rejoice
Shining amidst so many lights
And seeing the ancient darkness dissipate
Shine and warm up to the eternal king's Sun
Let the mother Church also rejoice equally
Raising the candles of this new fire
And listen, suddenly resounding
The Hallelujah sung by the people
The Lord be with you
He is in our midst
Hearts on high
Our heart is in God
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
It is our duty and our salvation
Yes, truly it is good and just
To sing to the Father with all our heart
And to celebrate his Son Jesus Christ
Made for us a new Adam
It was he who paid the other's guilt
When he gave himself up to death for us
To erase the old document
He shed all his blood on the cross
For now is the Easter, our feast
In which the true Lamb was sacrificed
Marking our doors, our souls
He saved us with his divine blood
This is, Lord, the night in which from Egypt
You led the children of Israel
Crossing the Red Sea on dry land
Towards the land flowing with milk and honey
O night when the luminous column
Dissipated the darkness of sin
And to those who believe in Christ throughout the earth
He gathered in a new chosen people!
O night when Jesus broke through hell
By rising victorious from death
What would it avail us to be born
If he did not redeem us in his love?
O God, what stupendous charity
We see shining in your gesture
You do not hesitate to give your own Son
To redeem the servants' guilt
O necessary sin of Adam
For Christ dissolves it in his love
O so happy fault that has deserved
The grace of such a great Redeemer!
Only you, happy night, knew the hour
When Christ rose from death
And that is why it was written of You
The night will be light for my day!
For this night washes away all crime
Frees the sinner from his chains
Dissipates hatred and humbles the mighty
Fills hearts with light and peace
O night of true joy
That prostrates Pharaoh and raises the Hebrews
That unites heaven and earth again
Putting the light of God in human darkness
In the grace of this night your people
Offer a sacrifice of praise
Receive, Holy Father, the new fire
It does not lose its brightness when divided
The generous beeswax virgin wax
Brought light to the risen Christ
Here is again the luminous column
That leads your people to heaven
The candle that lit our candles
May it shine brightly all this night
Mix its light with that of the stars
Sparkle when the day breaks
May it please you as the Son
Who triumphed over death and conquers evil
God, who enlightens everyone in his brilliance
And will return one day, triumphant Sun
Amen
