Butterfly
From the new moon the dark black veil of hair
Has a spell of a braided pampean that is your secret
But it unties in the same turn and opens the moonlight
Of your butterfly smile loose in the air
Throughout the room the same speech when you pass by
From your perfume, flowery field that thins me
Dancing like this, you against the light shows the magic
Of a butterfly that doesn't end at dawn
Where did you get your affectionate way
From the flower next to the toso and a tender gaze
Perhaps the accordion with a correntina voice
Is the madam and forces you to dance
With this rhythm I lose the horse when I see you
From the left hand that ties the reins of my desire
If it weren't for the poncho and the brim of the stick to save me
I would put my whole soul at stake to hug you
Everything in life has a beginning and an end
You left without even saying goodbye to me
Your way remained in the voice of the accordion and in the melody
Of a butterfly that doesn't end at dawn
