Vox Populi

Vox Populi
I see the world falling at my feet
And the lands that saw me grow burning
I see my people without the desire to be
Puppets of this sinister plan
Some talk about conspiracy
Others about a curse from a merciless God
And now looking back I can see
How many mistakes we could have made
To sell our sweat
And have it used to make
The people slaves of a traitor
Who leaves us without bread, without dreams, and without warmth
Now I try to reflect
On how to change our destiny
And thus be able to recover
What from the beginning is yours and mine
To make the difference between being
A leader and wanting to guide a people
And the shame it is to see
How that leader usurps your domain
We have no other choice
We must raise our united voice
And end the oppressor
Who keeps the masses asleep
If instead of being our lord
You were our ally, everything would go better
If your desire is only to steal
You will find a thousand locks and no forgiveness
Take off the blindfold and see how much pain
Understand that I don't understand why
A man without reason regrets being a father
For not being able to feed his child
If you don't want to heal the world around you
Even though this is your only duty
Don't ask forgiveness from the suffering masses
Ask it rather from Lucifer
I write the future with the black feathers
Of a bird unable to fly
The fire burns in the consciences
And the fierce voices will not cease
When I return, if this has changed
Promise me not to stop dreaming
And now with the wind on my side
I pursue a beginning born from an end
Dreams of peace
The voice of the people
Vox populi
Growing stronger
There is no fear anymore
Time for protests
Vox populi
Victory is ours!
And at the end of the battle I find myself standing
Among rubble looking back
We have already toppled statues, the leaves have fallen
Upon ungrateful necks!
Let's give life the color
Of the fruit sown with your hands
Knowing that victory was born from courage
From courage!
If instead of being our lord
