Cuatro Estrofas
Alejandro Lerner
Four Stanzas
I have no more disguises left to act
I have no more words left to not cry
I have no more smiles left to draw
So much happiness that I no longer have.
I have no more poems left to recite
Nor melodies to improvise
I have no more fantasies
To be able to dream a little more. I have no more pockets left to empty
I have no more places to escape
And now I am much more alone
Than my previous song and inside me, memories. I have no more stanzas to invent
I don't care if they don't rhyme or if I sing off-key
Just a little more strength to imagine
In this same place, to be together again.
