Vies Monotones

Monotonous Lives
We lead monotonous lives,
Nothing in the heart, nothing in the hand.
As we no longer say anything to anyone,
No one says anything to us anymore.
We lead monotonous lives,
Empty and closed houses,
Heavy and locked doors
That will never be opened by anyone again.
But since we have to live,
Sitting with the same companion,
It's not the feast we thought,
No fireworks, no wine, no sorbet,
Just have to pull the tablecloth towards us,
Continue each for themselves.
We lead monotonous lives,
Nothing in the heart, nothing in the hand,
As we expect nothing from anyone,
We have no more answers.
We lead monotonous lives,
Surrounded by men and dogs,
Those who eat from our hand,
Are the ones we abandon.
But since we have to live,
Tonight with the same companion,
It's not the party we thought, where are the shining lights.
Just have to pull the tablecloth towards us,
Continue each for themselves.
We have lives without mixing,
That will go in all directions,
Stiff and straight like a plank,
On the ocean of poverty.
But since we have to live,
Sitting with the same companion,
It's not the feast we thought,
No fireworks, no wine, no sorbet,
Just have to pull the tablecloth towards us,
Continue each for themselves.
