The Bell Will Ring
Thousands of bells bring us, through the centuries, the humanistic sound of the arts of the Renaissance. From Italy, land of sublime musicians, we will hear "The Bell Will Ring".
Scene composition: The song begins with Carlos López Puccio on the piano. Then Ernesto Acher introduces the others, starting with Jorge Maronna on bass, Daniel Rabinovich on drums, and Marcos Mundstock on the organ. He also introduces Carlos Núñez, who is supposed to be ready to play the bell but isn't, so Ernesto starts singing the song.
I am an incorrigible seducer
For women and girls, irresistible
And when the bell rings sweetly
Telling the hours is understandable
I feel a fire inside my heart
Very terrible
And urgently want to make love...
The music stops as Carlos asks where the bell he has to play is. Everyone points unanimously to a bell high up surrounded by a curtain.
If it's possible...
Giovanna is a very beautiful actress
And swears she will love me forever
She works in the theater
She will arrive at four
When the bell rings, she will arrive
Carlos tries to hit the bell and fails, Ernesto Acher stands up, brings his chair closer for him to hit it but he also fails
The bell will ring
And my beauty will arrive
Luciana is a beautiful nurse
Known throughout the city
It will be a perfect appointment
At five o'clock
When the bell rings, she will arrive
The bell will ring
And my beauty will arrive
Carlos enters with a giant mallet to hit the bell, but when he lifts it, it breaks in half and hits him on the head, so he exits the scene again.
Rosanna is a beautiful waitress
She swears our love will be great
I like her so much
She will arrive at six
When the bell rings, she will arrive
Carlos extends a cable from the top of the curtain and starts walking on it like a tightrope walker, but he slips and one foot escapes, and the cable hits him... well, one foot escapes.
The bell will ring
And my beauty will arrive
Giulianna is a sweet singer
Her song is truly sweet
It gets into my heart
She will arrive at seven
When the bell rings, she will arrive
The bell will ring
And my beauty will arrive
Carlos finally enters with a saw in hand, he goes inside the curtain and starts sawing the base on which the bell is resting.
Silvana is a beautiful dancer
Who always stays in motion...
Ernesto looks worried at Carlos sawing and forgets to sing.
Lará, lará, larála
Lará, lará, larála
And it seems to me that this bell
Never rings...
The bell falls on Carlos Núñez's head, who exits the curtain and finally manages to hit it, although being on his head makes him dizzy and he exits staggering while the rest of the members leave the stage, some worried about Carlos's health and others desperate because he ruined the performance.
