El Oso
Leusemia
The Bear
I lived in the forest very happy,
I walked, walked endlessly.
Mornings and afternoons were mine
At night I lay down to rest.
But one day the man came with his cages
He locked me up and took me to the city.
In the circus they taught me acrobatics
And that's how I lost my beloved freedom.
'Be content,' an old tiger told me,
Never lack roof and food,
They only demand that we do the acrobatics
And bring joy to the children.
Four years have passed in this life,
With the circus I traveled the world like this
But I could never forget everything,
My forests, my afternoons, and myself.
In a remote little town
Someone didn't close the lock.
It was a moonless night
I left the city.
Now I step on the ground of my forest,
Once again the green of freedom.
I am old but the afternoons are mine
I return to the forest, I am truly happy.
