La Noche De Mi Mal
Lila Downs
The Night of My Misery
I don’t even want to hear your name again.
I don’t want to know where you’re going.
That’s how you told me that night,
that dark night of my misery.
If I had told you, "don’t go,"
what a sad future awaited me.
If I had said, "don’t leave me,"
my own heart would’ve laughed at me.
That’s why you saw
me so calm,
walking serenely
under a sky more than blue.
Then you see,
I walked as far as I could,
ended up crying rivers
where you wouldn’t see me.
