How sad were the disciples on
The road to Emmaus
They lamented all the pain
That the King Jesus had suffered

Their eyes could not
Contemplate the victory
But their hearts burned
Upon hearing Jesus speak

Speak, Lord, make my heart burn
Touch me, Lord, with Your power
With Your anointing
Stay with me, give me Your grace
And hide me behind Your cross
Open my eyes as You did
To the two disciples of Emmaus

Jesus is the same, He never changes
And He wants to exchange your burden
Wants to give you a new name
And can restore your life

Oh, do not doubt, surrender now
Place your problems today at the foot of the cross
And you will feel power within your chest
Like the disciples of Emmaus
