Romance de Campo e Flor
Lisandro Amaral
Field and Flower Romance
Your field and stream gaze
Immersed in a smile
Your black and smooth hair
Like the silk of my handkerchief...
Immortal intense heat
When I arrive in front of the stream
And the sweetest of guavas,
For love, you know what I think.
I want a kiss, by the rocks,
Where you bathe your perfume,
Where the fish are jealous
When I am in your prayers
Where nature descends
With its blood and splendor
And a field and flower couple
Has the soul it deserves.
Where the Indians bathed:
Our desire got wet...
Where the shadows drowned:
Today, we will be reborn.
Where you wash your dresses
I want to bathe my being
And then ask God
For your world to live.
How many romances sprouted
In the lively streams of the field,
How many drops waited,
Guided by their charms.
That, field and flower would dive
Ardent, falling...
...surpassing the innocent
that inhabits simplicity,
to be born: - field and truth -
and in the stream of humility
bathe love, simply...
