La Habana En Febrero
Liuba Maria Hevia
Havana In February
Two gazes met
under the morning sun
and discovered a
magical, unknown path.
Unstoppable spring,
indescribable innocence,
time that love reaches
with the rhythm of its spear.
They shared the sailboat
that February gave them
for an unknown sea,
they were the blush and the fear
sharing the downpour of love
that had come.
And Havana wore a new dress
to welcome on the way
two lovers in their bed,
lights sprouted from their hair
when the lovers traveled
under a streetlight through the universe.
-Tell me about an unknown sun.
-I give you the time I've lived.
-Stay love here in my chest.
They went through four winters
shared so many dreams
that they embraced life
without expecting the farewell.
Unstoppable spring,
indescribable recklessness,
time that love reaches
with the certainty of its spear.
They didn't expect the excuse
of the approaching goodbye
at the door of their empire,
February has lost
a heart without saying goodbye to love
and its downpour.
And Havana was hit by that sadness
that dyed all its wake gray,
winter reached the coast,
lights and bells went out
death knocked down another window
a streetlight cries to the universe.
-Tell me about an unknown sun.
-I give you the time I've lived,
-Stay love here in my chest.
