Cristo Está Vivo

Christ is Alive
On Sunday morning
The women went to the tomb
And when they got there
They found the stone rolled away
And the grave empty
Then they were surprised by an angel
Who said to them
Why are you looking for the living among the dead?
He’s not here, for he has risen
Today is Friday in Jerusalem
On the way to Calvary, I see someone
Carrying a heavy cross
Condemned to die in my place
The soldiers will nail him to the cross
And as they lift it, they will tear apart
The body of Jesus
These will be the most terrible pains
That anyone can endure
And even his own father
Will turn his face away
When the crowd shouted: Free Barabbas!
They were condemning the Prince of Peace to death
When they said: Crucify Jesus
They were choosing darkness, rejecting the light
But he came to fulfill what God had planned
And there on the cross, he gave himself in my place
Like a lamb, he had to face death
Like a lion, he rose again, forever alive
He is alive, Christ is alive
He triumphed over death and is here today
He is alive, Christ is alive
He is the Lamb of God, lion of the tribe of Judah
Lion of the tribe of Judah
When the crowd shouted: Free Barabbas!
They were condemning the Prince of Peace to death
When they said: Crucify Jesus
They were choosing darkness, rejecting the light
But he came to fulfill what God had planned
And there on the cross, he gave himself in my place
Like a lamb, he had to face death
Like a lion, he rose again, forever alive
Forever alive
Forever
