I know in a faraway place
maybe someone will be there
who today won't open
the bottle of champagne.

I know in a faraway place
maybe someone will think
that in other corners
there are hungry mouths left.

But it will be such strange people
who will hesitate for a moment
to shake hands
with those who are not brothers.

And those of us who with great noise
want to create a new world
today, this night, we will say no.

And for those for whom

they won't extend their hand either.

And those of us who go changed
to the 'Midnight Mass'
we don't pray with a different face
that is not needed.

Outside the church
there are very blind men
our fog covers them
the path of the wind.

But it will be such strange people
who with the torch will burn the wind
to bring light
through all the smoke.

And those of us who have shouted
we are all the same
today we will close the door together.
And tomorrow a new awakening will come
no one will have a red face.

who upon seeing me will say,
shut up, nobody has listened.
