Cançó de rem i de vela (nº XII)
Lluís Llach
Song of oar and sail (No. XII)
Among the boats when love passes by,
It doesn't carry the fury of screams or kisses,
The love that passes by the seashore,
Is bluish-green and flexible like water.
For love to reach the beach,
We must have a little calmness,
And a seagull in the sleepy sky,
A seagull and a very blue water.
The love that passes by the seashore,
Wants the boat to move just a little,
Wants a bit of wind in the sail,
But is afraid of feeling the waves.
Wants a cheek to be kissed,
But with a certain reluctance;
The love lived by the seashore
Is a love of very few words.
Among the boats when love passes by,
It doesn't want tears, moans, or laughter,
The love that passes by the seashore
Is a sigh that beats like water.
