La gallineta
Lluís Llach
The little hen
The little hen has said enough
I don't want to lay any more eggs
To hell with this yoke
that has enslaved me for so many years.
And if I feel like it
I'll give myself constipation,
the one who takes advantage of me
won't have a warm egg anymore.
The hen has said no,
Long live the revolution!
In exchange for some grains of wheat
you have taken away my ability to fly
but, I swear, it's over!
I have a whole life ahead of me
and I'm not worried about my fate,
because once freed from the executioner
there should be no danger
for me to get along with the neighbors.
And the roosters that will have to sleep with me
I will choose them healthy and brave,
because I'm tired of the impotent ones
who make my nights boring.
Let it be clear forever more,
that I have nothing of a virgin,
and that, if we're going to do it, I don't want
a second constipation.
The hen has said no,
long live the revolution!
