Tanta llum de mar
Lluís Llach
So Much Light from the Sea
So much light, so much light from the sea all around,
like a gust of wind that escapes from time,
the flight of a lone bird, surprising and clear,
the golden sand of years makes us shimmer and dance.
So much blazing blue, so much brightness,
with a distant heartbeat,
blood calls for love.
A path of glances and sunlight
reveals how secret our joy is,
how with our fingers and eyes, without any fear,
we can fill the space with a new return;
explosions will pass and we will remain
faithful to so much effort,
joyfully faithful.
Beyond the charm of the horizon,
like a beautiful and powerful dream
that puts accents of light on what believes,
the voice resonates and grows in other voices;
over a bridge of sea we launch the song
and the horizon will be
the voice we’ve been waiting for.
Through the mirror of a future we dream
winding and beautiful with clarity,
the gesture fills the void left by forgetfulness
and little by little resumes its lively rhythm.
We will stretch our hands over the sea
facing that future
that we’ve forged in dreams.
