Levan Polkka
Loiutma
Levan Polkka
You could hear the polka beat from the neighborhood
It tickled my feet down below.
Ieva's mom was keeping an eye on her girl
But Ieva sure knew how to go,
'Cause we don't care about the rules at all
When we dance from wall to wall.
Salivili hipput tupput täppyt
Äppyt tipput softly down.
Ieva's mouth was full of wheat
As folks wished her well and good.
Everyone's head was soaked with sweat
And the fiddle played and groaned.
This boy doesn't mind the wetness
When we dance from wall to wall.
Salivili hipput.
Ieva's mom was in the room
Singing hymns and making a fuss,
While this boy next door
Was having fun with her girl.
And the ladies don't mind this boy
When we dance from wall to wall.
Salivili.
It was a blast after the music
I got to have a little fun.
When I headed home, the lady was mad
And Ieva started to cry.
I told Ieva, what’s the big deal?
Let’s keep dancing from wall to wall.
Salivili.
I tell the old lady to shut her mouth
I’m not gonna mess with your health.
You’ll be fine once you fix your bones
And you can chill out in your place.
This boy doesn’t mind the fuss
When the ladies sweat from wall to wall.
Salivili.
I say you gotta bite down
You can’t just swallow me whole.
You can go off on your own
But I won’t give up on Ieva,
'Cause this boy doesn’t mind the shyness
When we dance from wall to wall.
Salivili.
