I Am That

Sometimes we go out looking for stories, looking for people
An idea that inspires us, and in the end, we end up
Finding ourselves
At the end of the road, not because we made a mistake
But because we found our entrance and our exit
That's how the consciousness of many works

I am just the one who covers with letters and notebooks
Who carries on the ribs 23rd and 25th of October
Who wants to stay in your memory as the man
Who prefers that his words be remembered before his name

The one who doesn't believe in shepherds, but believes in God
Who has two hands, a brain, a heart, and a voice
A way of living, a soul, a philosophy
Always carrying hot blood and a cool mind

Who could give up and say a resounding no
But despite failures, dreams of changing the world
Changing course and not hiding reality
Because there is no worse lie than keeping a truth silent

The one who has mom and dad and who since childhood
The only thing he never lacked was their affection
The one with unfulfilled dreams, the owner of his challenges
To whom no one taught, but learned to keep secrets

Respect and love to my parents I send today
I will never forget their sacrifices for my well-being
Nor the first time I saw my old man cry
When he came back from a trip and found an empty freezer

I am that kid who threw away the pacifier
Imagination my greatest refuge, my best toy
The rider of the steed of melancholy
Advancing with hope to materialize utopias

Who day after day questions how it has been?
Who repudiates hatred because hatred is rotten love
Who knows that we have all repented
At some point, when life doesn't make sense

I am the one who has made mistakes, I accept them
And may those I have harmed forgive me with this
I have been wrong trying to do the right thing
But my greatest virtue is being proud of my flaws

Of my concepts, because as far as I'm concerned
Lack of self-love is what affects the most
That there are no perfect people, that there is no straight line
That what is least sought is the first thing found

I am the one who expects nothing from anyone when touching a door
We know how to ask but find it hard to give answers
The one who bets the card that everyone forgot
The same one from the same story who deceived the deceived

The one who hit the one who was hit, who was ignored
The one who ignored the one no one could sink no matter how hard they tried
Who fell in love with those who did not fall in love
But always left that small mark that was never forgotten

The one who has not been greedy, but has ambitions
One life and a million aspirations
Who wants to succeed doing what he loves even if others oppose
Because that's how the world is, that's why mine is left between lines

I am the one who forgives those who have hurt me
And I keep climbing the steps of the years
With few friends, obstinate in society
Like Diogenes, the cynic
With a lantern in full sun, looking for an honest man

Like everyone, I have laughed and cried
Like everyone, life has hit me and knocked me down
But I have gotten up, I have continued and learned the lesson
I can now love with my head and think with my heart

And that a man's reason has value, not price
By walking slowly, finding and defending my space
I am the one who appreciated the betrayal of foolish friends
And to enemies for offering me their most sincere contempt

I appreciate everyone who offered me their hand
The greedy and the honest for making me understand
That the greatest wealth a man can have
Is the respect of his own and the love of a woman

I must know how to guide my boat no matter the direction of the wind
Enjoy every moment to the fullest
Put all my strength into every attempt
You live life or understand it, not both at the same time

I will continue to be another who writes his experiences
Guided sometimes by passion, other times by conscience
Making the most of my right to exist
So that my mark in your memory is the reward

After death since fate is sealed
Any day can be, at birth I was already waiting
I am ready, wandering between dreams and poems
Looking for stories to tell and finding mine

Music of the soul
That's what there is
The power to know oneself
To then show yourself as you are
To the people around you
Revolution starts from within
If you don't change yourself, you can't change the world around you
It's the village
You know!
