Mentires
Los Berrones
Lies
As much as they promised
that this was not going to happen,
that the meadow of this town
no one was going to touch...
And the machinery arrived
with sharpened teeth,
knocking down all the hedges,
damaging all the meadows.
For cutting a few holm oaks
from my hedge
they give me a couple of years in prison
and a hefty fine...
They filled it with wolves
that end up with my cattle
and wild boars
struggling through the meadows.
The councilor said no,
that they are not to blame,
that the order comes from the capital,
that they don't have a say in this.
Lies, just lies,
there's no one who tells the truth.
I've been waiting for ten years
for them to give me the subsidy
to fix up the barn a bit
but the poor man has already fallen...
They say there's no budget,
that it can't cover everything;
but they spend it on feasts
at the expense of others.
The councilor said no...
Lies, just lies,
there's no one who tells the truth.
Where, where are you going, glutton?
-Well, I have an inauguration.
