Gathering Dreams
I wish that my Homeland would change its appearance,
offering its children a happy future:
that together we make this change very soon,
so that peace and hope reign in it.
That's why I compare my Homeland to my house:
the house that belongs to everyone, its dream, nothing more.
I wish this dream would last a long time,
so that we can rest without grudges.
Our mother, the Earth, asks us for a great effort:
let's found, in her womb, the harrow of love.
Let's gather our dreams; let's join our hands,
so that our sowing yields fruits of humility.
My house is where I live: it's where I work.
By making sacrifices, I receive dignity.
No brother thinks of surpassing his other brother
and causing envy that brings disunity.
Hernández already said that being divided:
our house is in danger, the nation is in danger.
We must hammer this so it becomes flesh;
may our children know their history and tradition.
