Con mi sombra

Quiet as a whisper
it moves around me
it detaches from my body
and tells me that it's me.

My shadow comes with me
without knowing where it's going
doesn't complain about the pace
she just keeps following me.

Many times she goes ahead
and imitates my walk
and never loses sight of me
when she walks behind.

There are shadows that fade
within the darkness
and others that have their own light
no one can put out.

With the little I offer her
maybe she'll want to leave
if she doesn't cost me anything
and never asks for more.

Shadow that always surprises me
shadow like no other
if she dances folk dances
when she hears me whistle.

There are those who have never had
and don't deserve to have
if their shadows don't appear
there must be a reason.
