Santafesino de veras
Los Chalchaleros
True Santafesino
Fellow Santafesino
Born in the grasslands
Where the willows live
The light of the Carcarañá
I grew up like the fish grows
On the banks of this shore
True Santafesino
Of the Carcarañá River
They call me the Caburé
And sometimes the Guaraní
Because I am from Santa Fe
Which is the place where I was born
The polka and the chamamé
Have been composed for me
When the accordion plays
I shine
I get wet in the downpours
The tough grass cuts me
The southeast winds burn me
From the Carcarañá River
My life is in these lands
Defended by the chajases
And darkened by the biguases
And scented by the jacarandá
There I will always remain
The guitar will tell me
My memory in the accordion
Will always remain
Death will take me
Singing this chamamé
If I die, it will be singing
My love for my Santa Fe
Because I am from Santa Fe
Which is the place where I was born
