To defend the threatened Homeland
Five departed from Atacama
They were five miners with sun-kissed faces
Who swore with all their soul

Facing the defenses and the cannons
Two defending the entrance to Tacna
Faithfully they fulfilled their oath
The two remaining from Atacama
