Los Gardelitos Los Gardelitos

The Guys From The Corner

The guys from the corner are making fun of her, because they say she can't even walk, she doesn't even know the trendy bands: She doesn't know U2, The Rolling Stones, The Paranoid Mice, Marilyn Manson, Phlegm, Soda Stereo, The Little Red Ricotta Balls... Who knows.
And yet she's a good girl who washes and cooks, who takes care of her four siblings because at night her father gets drunk.
Her father is a shitty drunk, who never goes to work. The woman left him a long time ago, she left with his best friend (as always happens).
Leaving him with four kids and a grown girl who washes and cooks but who at night feels lonely.
The guys from the corner don't understand any of this. They are rockers with their walkman on their heads. They are always spinning around with alcohol or pills... And she's in love with all of them and at night she dreams that one of them will come to pick her up to smoke a joint or go dancing or simply discover her womanly body.
Some fat neighbors sometimes pretend to be nice and bring her some leftovers from dinner.
She sweetly attends to them and says: 'No thanks, ma'am. My siblings and I are fine, my father loves us a lot and believe it or not, we don't need charity from others. My mother left a long time ago before I turned seven. Maybe she's better off now, she chose that path. But we love our father very much and we would never abandon him. We know he's a good guy who just had bad luck'.
