Agua de Mar
Los Guaranies
Sea Water
I tried to lie to my heart
Telling it that I didn’t love you anymore
That I’d pay for the indifference I found
By putting you aside in my life.
I invented a clear, blue sky
Where I let my things take flight
And without the shelter of your love
They died of sadness in their flight.
Sea water,
I know we can’t
Unite our parallel paths
Sea water,
I know we’ll die
Trying to break what’s been set
Sea water,
I’m dying of thirst and I can’t reach you.
I tried to start over
So many times I lost count
And despite both our efforts
We felt the differences grow.
I invented figures of a woman
Searching for one that looked like you
I let them out from the heart absent of your magic and your joy.
