Cantares de Mi Tierra
Los Hermanos Simon
Songs of My Land
Even if my voice fails me; even if my hands tremble
I always grab the guitar and sing to my countrymen
When I feel very sad, I play a vidalita
And so beautifully I go, I sing to the telesita
When I am far from home, my heart dreams of returning
I take the guitar and sing the nostalgias of Santiago
Vidalas; chacareras; gatos; zambas and hidden ones
Are songs of my land that have never been lost
If joy is overflowing in my chest
Strumming the always cheerful one, I spend the day singing
If my disappointed soul exhales sad sighs
Softly I start singing the verses of the baguala
When I cross the Salado River, I remember the Cachimayu
And if I go along the sweet one, I sing the Mishqui Mayu
These are songs of my land to start dancing
And finish near dawn singing the vidalita
