Bombo Legüero
Los Hermanos Toledo
Bombo Legüero
From far away you can hear
Joyful drumming
It's the thump-thump of my drum
Marking the zamba I want to sing
My grandfather made its box
From an old weeping willow
A willow that cried green
And giving life, he sang while crying
How those drumheads sound! They seem to beat
Like a heart turned zamba
Singing and singing its old feeling!
On any given afternoon
I just start to sing
All the country folks gather around
My legüero drum makes them come
How my ranch rejoices!
Everything is dancing and laughing
And among guitars and songs
The legüero drum seems to come alive
