Estampa Del Mansero
Los Manseros Santiagueños
The Mansero's Stamp
Old stamp of the past blurred in memory
I raise your likeness here as a flag of glory
So you may be in my land a symbol of hope
Mansero, humble mansero, caretaker of the herds
You trotted through the tracks and there in the towns and villages
They outlined your silhouette with a hundred hearths and lanterns
The harsh dawns saw you, amidst frosts and mists
Stopping the herd gently at the command of the mistress
And preparing the mate while the laborers rest
I follow your path, mansero, with my herd of dreams
And in zambas and chacareras of faithful Santiago's stamp
I mention the bravery of your noble and distinguished soul
I see you leading the line of the long caravan
With the mistress of the team, in the script of the morning
And the smoke of your cigarette doubles a white sigh
He sings and lifts his sorrow through plains, mountains, and thickets
While scanning in the distance the signs of a thousand dangers
To protect the herds entrusted to his perseverance
Little gaucho of noble lineage from distant times
I wish you to be the guide with your knowledge of the land
In these worn times that my homeland crosses
I follow your path, mansero, with my herd of dreams
And in zambas and chacareras of faithful Santiago's stamp
I mention the bravery of your noble and distinguished soul
