Llego Volando
Los Miserables
Arrived Flying
The crow arrived flying over my land
To sow ruins and despair
For long centuries the yanaconas
Gave him the keys to the crown.
For long centuries he was staining
The land of the villages he was violating
Drilling the lands of cultivation
To dig for the gold of temperance.
He wiped his hands with my flag
And in my homeland there was no lack of applause
Because there are unfortunate ones who for crumbs
Kiss the dirty boot that oppresses them.
Some swell with great zeal
Serving the greed of foreigners
And others delight in a thousand dinars
Handing over their people to the military.
I demand a wall with lime and song
So the people can judge from time to time
While the dawn arrives late or soon
Administering justice to the Indo-American pain.
The insatiable crow arrived flying again
Bringing us its endless shadow
But the harsh day is not far
When we rise against the swords
To announce the dawn of the continent.
