Toxicosmos
Los Planetas
Toxicosmos
We walk through hills
of onions and metal,
through memories of other lives,
things that have already happened.
And although the bones hurt,
each step hurts more.
Something like this shouldn't end.
We travel the path
without looking back,
through columns of ash,
through churches of glass.
And we are under the water
and we are under the sea
as it becomes harder to breathe.
My ears approach
and speak of what we have yet to go through.
And the senses explode
in colors yet to be invented.
And it's clear,
there's no reason to doubt.
And we pray
to never return again.
We share what remains
and we reach the end.
In castles of wood,
of mercury and coral.
And although the tiredness weighs,
each day weighs more.
Please never make us go back.
My ears approach
and speak of what we have yet to go through.
And the senses explode
in colors yet to be invented.
And it's clear,
others think the same.
And we pray
to never return again,
to never return again.
And we pray
to never return again.
