Un Buen Día
Los Planetas
A Good Day
I woke up almost at ten
and stayed in bed
for more than three quarters of an hour,
and it was worth it.
The sun came in through the window,
and some specks of dust
shone in the air.
I went to the window
and it was a wonderful morning.
I went down to the bar for breakfast
and read in the Marca
that the brat got injured.
And I didn't think of you
until a while later.
Then these guys came by
and we went down
to have some beers,
and I laughed with them.
I slept until six
and then I read
some Spiderman comics,
which I almost didn't remember.
And I got out of bed.
I turned on the TV and there was a game
and Mendieta scored a goal
truly incredible.
And I got sad
right before leaving.
I had arranged to meet again at ten
and I rode my bike down
to the usual bars,
where I used to meet you,
and it wasn't cold at all.
I was with Erik until six
and we did
four million lines.
And I didn't think of you again
until I got home,
and then I couldn't sleep
as always happens.
