El cheque
Los Tigres del Norte
The check
After cashing the check, I went to a cantina
To throw back a few drinks
There were some mariachis, without hats and wearing sandals
Singing Juan Charrasqueado.
Behind the bar was a very pretty girl
Who kept staring at me
Right off the bat, I told her how I liked her
Don't get me all riled up.
She said I'm not riling you up, and if I'm really looking at you
It's because I've liked you
I said if you're sincere and of course single
We'll tie the knot soon.
That night was a real party, a true party
Because I was all stirred up
We drank all night, sang with the mariachi
Even Juan Charrasqueado.
Another day in the morning when I'm waking up
With a terrible hangover
At the edge of the bed was the cantinera
Saying 'I am your wife'
She had a paper in hand, with writing and signatures
Where I accepted her
Here you have me now, I'm all messed up
Because of a party.
