Mi Soldado
Los Tigres del Norte
My Soldier
I adored him, in his mother's womb
In my arms, I taught him to decipher
I taught him every way out, respect for life
But others, they train him to kill
He no longer plays soldiers in my house
Now he lives on a military base
He's a combat man, an expert in rescue
And who knows, if I'll hug him again
How many wars have been fought?
How many fallen heroes?
For men, power, and ambition
How many heroes remain, with their hearts tattooed?
Mutilated, by bombs and cannon
'Don't cry, father!' He told me, 'What will you do to make me cry?'
My homeland has been attacked, and for her I will fight
I gave him a tight hug
Said goodbye to my soldier and hid to cry
I didn't want to stain his military uniform with tears
And if God gave his son
As an eternal sacrifice, for mortal sinners
How could I deny mine
Even if I die empty, if I don't hug him again!
I sing to the soldiers of the earth, the ones who hold the flag with honor!
There goes what I love the most, my feisty little boy!
Defending his homeland with courage
How many wars have been fought?
How many fallen heroes?
For men, power, and ambition
How many heroes remain, with their hearts tattooed?
Mutilated, by bombs and cannon
