Barrio Viejo
Los Tigres del Norte
Old Neighborhood
This neighborhood is my beloved neighborhood
Old neighborhood that I never forget
Because here is where I was born and raised
Among thorns my first steps
I tasted my first failures
And seeking fortune, I left
With the sought-after goddess Fortune
It was a very tough and heavy struggle
And in the end when I achieved it
I understood, that I carried poverty in my soul
That my life hadn't been bad
And once again I returned to my neighborhood
Far from it, I felt my soul empty
Empty, empty, and I didn't cry for fear
That they would hear my crying
I return once again to my beloved neighborhood
With these people that I love so much
(Because in these poor neighborhoods
Man spends his life fighting against destiny
And sometimes those giants
As a whole inheritance leave
A cross along the way
As a child, I saw my old man
At the end of the day
He came back smiling on the outside
But his soul shattered
My mother said nothing
They were both giants
When they were most hungry, they thanked God)
Far from it, I felt my soul empty
Empty, empty, and I didn't cry for fear
That they would hear my crying
I return once again to my beloved neighborhood
With these people that I love so much
