El Galeon Español
Los Wawanco
The Spanish Galleon
I was reminiscing by the sea,
On a warm sunny afternoon,
The story my grandfather used to tell
About that old Spanish galleon.
I can see it,
Majestically sailing,
Its main mast towards the sky,
With its brave captain at the helm
Intoxicated with salt and rum.
Chorus:
The Spanish galleon arrived.
Leaving a wake in the sea,
The Spanish galleon arrived.
Leaving a wake in the sea.
Its flag in the air,
Its noble figure,
Will conquer your world.
Its flag in the air,
Its noble figure,
Will conquer its world.
Many years have passed
Since that stormy day it docked,
And still it can be seen swaying
Its compass towards the sky
Its main mast.
Now that my grandfather's voice
Is no longer in this warm sunny afternoon,
His heart can still be felt
Beating in the old Spanish galleon
