A Fé de Abraão

The Faith of Abraham
One day
God spoke to Abraham
Prepare your heart
And listen to what I will say
You have only one son
This same one I will ask of you
Behold, I will give you everything
But if you do not deny me
Offer me
This beloved son of yours
As a holy sacrifice
There on Mount Moriah
Serving as
A substitute for a lamb
I am the true God
To bless you
Oh
How it hurt
The pain of losing a son
Struck Abraham's heart
Oh
How it hurt
The pain of losing a son
Struck Abraham's heart
Early in the morning
Even without Sarah knowing
But he wanted to obey
The voice of the Lord Jehovah
He took Isaac
And the donkey saddled
And being tested by God
With a destination to Moriah
It's not so easy
For a father to pass this test
To see his son die
Without a way to give
But even so
Abraham went by faith
Hoping that the Lord
Would come to comfort him
At the foot of the mountain
He left all his servants
With a broken heart
No words to speak
He walked away
With Isaac by his side
And the sharp knife
To sacrifice his son
Isaac spoke
So painful for his father
I see the wood and the fire
But where is the lamb?
Abraham said
Almost wanting to cry
My son, the lamb
The Lord God will provide
He took Isaac
Placed him on the altar
And raised the knife
Prepared to shed blood
At that moment
An angel came and shouted
Abraham, do not do this
I know you fear Jehovah
There in the bushes
He saw a lamb
Tied by the horns
Ready to be sacrificed
I compare him
To that simple Lamb
My Lord Jesus Christ
Who died in my place
