O Anjo da Igreja
Lourival Freitas
The Church's Angel
Who doesn't know the struggle of a worker
It starts with murmuring
But he is the angel of the church
Who feels the weight of the congregation
And when someone sins
The pastor feels the disappointment
But he cries on his knees
Late at night, in prayer
But he cries on his knees
Late at night, in prayer
There are believers in churches today
Who like so much to cause trouble
Saying the pastor doesn't need tithing
And this way the argument comes
Poor worker tries to advise
But there's no way, division comes
Many pastors agree with their wives
Before going to the convention
I'm going to ask for my transfer
I can't take so much humiliation anymore
Their little children get excited
Because the church is in no condition
But there are pastors living comfortably
In big churches and well-off
And others live in small churches
With few members in the congregation
Others work as employees
Suffering insults from some of the brothers
There are pastors even going hungry
With their wives and children in the backlands
Sometimes fishing and working in the fields
To complete their meals
If he complains to the ministry
He's criticized at the convention
But there are pastors when they're poor
They walk in the countryside and love the brothers
They host believers in their homes
They visit without discrimination
But when they arrive in big churches
They become proud and change their hearts
The church cries on its knees
Late at night, in prayer
The church cries on its knees
Late at night, in prayer
