O Crente do Relógio
Lourival Freitas
The Clock Believer
Every day at seven o'clock, in my congregation
Even if they are bored
The brothers arrive excited, with
Their bible in hand
But, the clock believer!
Always has something to do
When everyone is praying
Yes, he's coming
Right at the end of the prayer
The clock believer!
Be careful, my brother!
He arrives late at church
Keeps an eye on the clock
And doesn't like prayer!
If the pastor takes too long
Extending the preaching
He looks at the clock
Gets up and leaves
To watch TV
Seven thirty-eight
He leaves at the gate!
When the weather
Is overcast and looks like rain
I don't know if I'll go there
In that back and forth
He quickly makes a decision!
Worried about life
Goes to the service and forgets the bible
And arrives late for prayer
If the pastor is preaching
He doesn't pay attention
When he's not talking
He falls asleep, the bible
Falls from his hand!
He doesn't wait for the end of the service
And if he has something to do, he looks at the
Clock!
Gets up and leaves
To watch TV
He doesn't go to church on Monday
Tuesday, neither!
Wednesday is busy!
Thursday, he's tired
Friday is for prayer
When it's the end of the week
He leaves at the gate
Oh no! It's thundering and the
Lightning is striking!
It's going to rain, I'm not going there!
